San Terenzo
San Terenzo is a nice and populated village of very old origins. With its fortunate position, where sea and beach make one with the houses, San Terenzo has maintained intact its Ligure aspect. The castle is at the oriental extremity: a quadrangular fort of the late Middle Ages built on top of a hillock which extends itself towards the sea. The Church, which was built around 1600 over the remains of an older one, is dedicated to the birth of the Virgin Mary, celebrated on September 8th, and holds a low relief from Domenico Gar, an oil on wood of the Madonna dell’Arena from the XV century and two large paintings of Domenico Fiasella. During its modern development, San Terenzo has gained a wide beach which extends itself before the multicoloured houses, a west promenade, below the rocky cliffs and the tower of the Castle as well as the promenade from “castle to castle” which connects San Terenzo to the village of Lerici.
